    1. asset management - applications and methods for real time location services

active rfid (and to a more limited degree passive rfid) is being leveraged in the health care industry, retail, etc. to manage to high value, mobile assets. as the costs associated with these systems fall, what are the potential applications for network management to leverage this technology?

    2. on a change control system

that might not be a good description, but what i’m talking about is being able to implement a change control system that applies rigorous restrictions on any changes being made without the change having been approved. as you may or may not know, most issues occur because someone changed something, and they often times do this outside of the change control system. so how do we manage changes made to the infrastructure concretely? probably the nexus of change and configuration management, and ALL access to ALL infrastructure probably needs to flow through a central (or several points) of control. but those points of control need to understand what is being accessed, by whom, at what level, what they are doing, and if what they are doing has been approved (or is simply generally allowed).
