I work in an office that uses a network of mac and pc computers, no server. They wish to use a software system to manage phone and client messages that will function across the network on both the macs and the pc’s. Does such a software exist, and where might I find it?

You need to be running a telephone system which supports this. They are incredibly expensive. An alternative is to use voice over ip, which involves subscribing to a SIP VOIP service provider. There is quite a lot of software out there to support this, using a pc to control the system. Some of it is free to download and use.
