Does anyone know why the Playstation Network is down right now?

I just got my MGO Beta code and I have to go to the store or the account management to redeem the code but the whole network is down due to “maintenance.” Does anyone know what’s going on?
I found where it says the new update and everything but I still can’t find out when they’re going to be done.

    They’re changing the Playstation Store. It will be up by Thursday and we finally get an update in content.

    Its suppose to be down for maintenance for 15 hours while they get ready to install the new PSN Store and we are also getting some kind of surprise from Sony….could be HOME???? I doubt it but who knows. I found this info on

    Seriously? Everybodies been going crazy about this forever now. They are completely revamping the entire PSN. Making it more user friendly and browsable. There will not be any extra content, but an entire new Playstation Store. Be happy.
